Newcastle United have completed the signing of highly rated Ivory Coast international Bazoumana Touré on a long-term contract from Bundesliga side Hoffenheim.
The 20-year-old winger arrives at St James’ Park after an impressive spell in Germany and becomes Newcastle’s second senior signing of the summer, following the arrival of French goalkeeper Ewen Jaouen.
Touré, who featured three times for Ivory Coast as they reached the knockout stages of this summer’s FIFA World Cup, admitted joining the Magpies fulfils a lifelong ambition.
“I’m very, very happy to be here,” Touré said.
“It was my dream since I was young to play in the Premier League for a big team like Newcastle.
“Newcastle is like a family, which will help me show my best on the pitch. I will give my best every single day for this shirt.
“I’m very excited to join Newcastle and I can’t wait to meet my team-mates, the supporters and everybody at the club. I’m also very excited to play at St James’ Park for the first time.”
Eddie Howe Excited by Touré’s Potential
Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe believes Touré has all the attributes to develop into a top Premier League player.
“We’re really pleased to have been able to bring Bazoumana to Newcastle United,” Howe said.
“He has shown his ability to perform in a top European league during his time in Germany and has gained really good experience with his national team, especially at this summer’s World Cup.
“We feel that he’s a player with a really high ceiling. He’s somebody who we believe can offer us something different. He also has a lot of potential to unlock and we’re really looking forward to working with him.”

Sporting director Ross Wilson praised the club’s latest acquisition, describing Touré as one of the game’s brightest young prospects.

“We’re sure there’s plenty more growth still to come – development we’re excited to nurture here at Newcastle. We’ve been working to complete this transfer over recent weeks while Bazoumana has been at the World Cup.

Who Is Bazoumana Touré?
Touré began his career with Ivorian giants ASEC Mimosas, progressing through the club’s academy before helping the side win the league title during his first season in senior football.
His performances earned him a move to Swedish club Hammarby in early 2024, where he quickly established himself as one of the league’s standout young talents. He scored eight goals in 23 appearances before securing a transfer to Hoffenheim in February 2025.
During his season and a half in the Bundesliga, Touré made 45 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and providing nine assists as Hoffenheim secured a fifth-place finish and qualification for the UEFA Europa League.
He made his senior international debut for Ivory Coast in October 2025 before representing his country at this summer’s FIFA World Cup, where he helped the Elephants reach the knockout stages.
The exciting winger now joins Newcastle United as the club continues to strengthen its squad ahead of the new Premier League season, with supporters hoping Touré can make an immediate impact on Tyneside.
