Portsmouth have completed the signing of Derby County midfielder Ebou Adams in a deal reported to be worth £500,000.
The 30-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-and-a-half-year contract at Fratton Park and will link up with John Mousinho’s Championship side, who currently sit 21st in the table.
Adams joined Derby County in January 2024 and went on to make 89 appearances, scoring eight goals for the Rams. During the current 2025/26 Championship season, he has remained a key figure, featuring in 23 of Derby’s 26 league matches.
Prior to his spell at Pride Park, Adams made over 100 appearances for Forest Green Rovers and has also enjoyed spells with Leyton Orient, Ebbsfleet United and Cardiff City, bringing extensive Football League experience to Portsmouth.
John Mousinho Praises New Signing
Portsmouth head coach John Mousinho expressed his delight at securing the midfielder:
“We’re delighted to get this deal over the line and bring in a proven Championship player.
He’s performed highly at this level over the past couple of seasons and is someone we’ve come up against a number of times.
Ebou will provide a huge amount of energy and athleticism in the middle of the park, and I’m really looking forward to working with him.
He was the club captain at Derby and has strong leadership qualities, which makes him a massive addition to the squad.”
